Tasting Notes: Duck Hunter Sauvignon Blanc

WSET-Style Notes

The wine appears pale lemon.

The aroma is medium plus intensity, with grass, pineapple, lemon, and jackfruit. On the palate it is medium plus intensity with grass, pineapple, candy, and apple.

It is a dry wine with medium plus acid, medium alcohol, a light body, and medium plus finish.

The wine is good and suitable for drinking now without aging.

Experiential Notes

Duck Hunter expresses signature notes of a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Grassy, tropical fruits jump out on the aroma, with a touch of candied apples to go along the palate. It’s not quite as acidic as one might expect (for a Sauvignon Blanc, at least), but is still a cool and racy wine. A great choice to be paired with lighter fare, such as salad and seafood, or completely on its own on a warm summer day.
